![]() ![]() The learning curve is incredibly straightforward and you are given time to adapt to new mechanics and weapons as they are introduced – like the grappling hook or whatever unique weapon you pull out of an enemy after performing a finisher on them. In no time, I was zipping around, quick-swapping my weapons, and mowing down the hordes thrown at me. It’s the kind of shooter where the movement is fluid, the guns actually feel good to use, and the pacing is well-defined. Not only do you get some nice enemy variety, a bunch of cool guns to use, and some detailed maps to duke it out in – but this is all on top of an incredibly polished base. If you are able to get past the length though, you’ll find a pretty fun shooter underneath. The content that is there is good, just don’t go in expecting it too last too long or really have any replayability – I finished with 84% achievement completion in my one run, so there’s not too much to do outside of that especially given that the achievements I am missing are stuff like “kill x enemies using environmental attacks” or “perform finishers x amount of times”. And no, I am not really one to complain about a game’s length, but I know that’s really important for a lot of others so I felt that that should be stated upfront. So yeah – not too long a game by any means, especially for AAA pricing. At this rate, the next one is probably going to be 2 hours. 3 though? It took me under 4 hours to clear. The average time for Shadow Warrior 2 is 7.5 hours. The average completion time for Shadow Warrior 1 (the 2013 version) is 12.5 hours. With that in mind though, I think the single most important issue people are going to find with Shadow Warrior 3 is its length. The levels look great, the enemy designs are really cool, and the overall visual and audio presentation is top notch – just what you would expect from a new AAA game, which this one seems to be going for given its pricing. ![]() The aesthetic is then molded around this, with enemies based around Japanese folklore and environments that look like they were pulled straight from East Asia. Revel in the ultra-violence and be sure to watch for any rapidly-spinning blades in the vicinity.Okay, so for those unfamiliar, this game is basically DOOM, but with a ninja as the protagonist instead. The trailer above depicts some of the visuals and enemies you’ll face. Shadow Warrior 3 will also come to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Don’t forget to Follow it as well if you want more information directly from the source. ![]() The single-player shooter does not have a confirmed release date yet, but Wishlist it on Steam and expect it by the end of the year. Shadow Warrior 3 also seems to include the series’ irreverent banter, like previous games in the series. All of this is couched in Japanese folklore, with Lo Wang something akin to a modern-day samurai. The dynamic environments feature plenty of traps and hazards to ruin any Yokai’s day. Lo Wang can air dash, wall run, double jump and even use a grappling hook for unparalleled mobility options. Players mix it up using a combination of firearms and a flurry of melee attacks. Hallmarks of the series include its fast pace. Shadow Warrior 3 places an emphasis on gory, smooth combat. Lo Wang also has some help from a dead god’s mask, a dragon egg, and a bit of magic to help him blast through hundreds of demons. With a stack of sharp blades and thousands of bullets, Lo Wang will have to track down the dragon and stop its world-ending rampage. The two of them attempt to recapture an ancient dragon that the two of them accidentally freed. ![]() Lo Wang, a former corporate shogun, and his employer-turned-enemy-turned ally Orochi Zilla, star in Shadow Warrior 3. Doomsday Device, a level in the upcoming game, features enemies living in the fat rolls of other enemies like disgusting little parasites. Shadow Warrior 3, expected sometime later this year, brings back the classic fast-paced shooting, precise melee combat, and agile free-running system. Shadow Warrior 3 Releases Doomsday Device Trailerįans of the first-person demon shooter series Shadow Warrior received a fun trailer this Friday. ![]()
